Registration
To register for classes, go to our Academy Registration Page and select the class/classes you are interested in taking this Spring.  Our Pring semester begins January 22nd and runs through April 22nd. Classes will not meet on holidays or during Granbury Spring Break on March 11-15.

Cost
All Academy classes are $150/student with a 50% discount available for those registering siblings or for those registering for more than one class. Once we have received your submission, we will calculate your total amount due and send you the link to our PayPal account to process payment! Payment plans are available.

Private Lessons
Private lessons for acting, voice, dance, and piano are also available by appointment. They are $40 per lesson and can be paid directly to the instructor. Please select what type of private lesson you would like and list your availability below. Your instructor will contact you before Jan 15, 2018.

Honk! Jr. Summer Camp

This educational summer camp is sure to be fun for kids of all ages! Campers will experience two full weeks of fun while learning music, choreography, and character development from area professionals who will prepare them for six performances. These campers will also get to work in small groups with our teen camp councilors who will help them with stage presence, confidence, and memorization techniques

About Honk! Jr.:
Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale has been transformed into a modern musical comedy appropriate for everyone in the family. Honk! tells the story of Ugly, who’s odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, Ugly must find his way, while his loving mother, Ida, searches for him. Along his journey, he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but he also finds love and acceptance.

Auditions:
Auditions will be Tuesday, July 10 at 10:00 am at the Granbury Opera House. Please prepare 45 seconds of your favorite song. Parts of the script will be provided for kids to read from.

*Additional siblings may attend for $95 per sibling.

Teen Cabaret Summer Camp

This camp with be an exciting opportunity for teens to work with professionals to produce their own original musical cabaret-style show. Teens will write monologues with a common theme to perform with a song selected with help from our accomplished music director. Teens will also act as a Junior Camp Counselor for Honk! Jr

About Teen Cabaret:
The Teen Cabaret will be a show for teens and young adults ages 13-17 and will consist of students performing songs, monologues and even dances.

Class: Beginning Musical Theatre Dance
Age: 7 – 18
Time: 4:00-4:50pm
Instructor: Jadie Phelps

Description: This class is for students who are new and beginning their musical theatre journey. In this class, students will learn different styles of musical theatre combinations from Broadway hits such as Annie, The Lion King, Hamilton, and many more! Just starting out? We welcome everyone to come and join the fun!

Class: Intermediate/Advanced Musical Theatre Dance
Age: 7-18

Description: This class is for more experienced musical theatre students. This class is for students who would like to further their musical theatre dance experience and help prepare for musical auditions. In this class, students will learn different styles of musical theatre combinations from Broadway and upcoming show such as Hamilton, Footloose, Young Frankenstein, and many more! Be prepared to work hard and have a great time!

Class: Adult Acting Workshop
Age: 18 & up
Time: 5:30-7:00pm

Location: Crossland Gym

Description: Students in The Actors’ Workshop will become better performers through the principles of imagination, controlled release of inhibitions, and common sense. Students work on techniques for developing individual talents without trying to “sacrifice the personality in lieu of the method.” With individual attention applied to individual abilities, the student and teacher attempt to discover and emphasize what works and diminish what doesn’t. Monologues, scene study, voice and articulation, character development, improvisation and audition techniques are incorporated to help make each student the best performer they can be.

Description: Calling young actors of all levels! This class will provide the opportunity for students to be pushed out their comfort zones, try new things, and mold their craft. Students will work on growth in their acting abilities through monologues, scenes, and ACTivities.

Class: Kids Acting Company
Age: 7 – 12

Description: This company of students will study the art of acting through monologues and scenes. Students will learn and practice the physical, vocal, and imaginative skills necessary for the stage. We welcome students from all acting levels and experiences. Students should be prepared to challenge themselves while also discovering the joys of acting.

Class: Broadway Babies Musical Theatre

Description: This class is for the future Broadway stars! Students will learn the beginning basics of musical theatre. This class is designed to teach and introduce the fundamentals of musical theatre. These students will begin the process of learning how to perform in front of an audience. Each student will have the opportunity to gain confidence, character, and growth through scenes, games, and activities.

Age: 18 & up

Description: All levels of talent and experience welcome. This class is geared toward furthering your abilities as a triple-threat performer. Students will be given the opportunity to perform in solo, duet, and ensemble numbers. Working with one of the best in the DFW musical theatre profession, students will be exposed to a wider variety of material for their repertoire and a better understanding of themselves as an artist. This class is sure to be fun, challenging, and judgement free. You do not want to pass up this opportunity!

Description: Continuing the knowledge of jazz dance technique, this class will offer students the opportunity to learn a series of more difficult jazz combinations and skills. Students will be taking the necessary steps in order to become a more advanced jazz dancer. Enroll in this class if you are ready to perform to the top of your ability. This class is destined to be outrageously fun and challenging.

Description: This class is designed for all levels of performers either starting or continuing their path in dance for musical theatre. Students will dance to some of the greatest and most popular musical numbers. This also will prepare students for auditions at GTC and locals musicals. Description: Need to become a more technical dancer? This class is specifically designed to help strengthen your techniques in dance. Students will learn the proper skills to become more flexible, better at turning, stronger in their leaps, and many other forms of technique. This class will be very focused on each student’s ability, making every individual a stronger dancer.

Class: Contemporary Dance
Age: 8 & up

Description: This will be a specialty class for those who want to experience a new style of dance. This class will focus on telling stories through the body and interpreting songs through dance. Open to all levels, if you just want a place to release and get your mind off of things, this is the class for you. You will go through a series of movement and learns how to express yourself through this style of dance. If you come with an open heart and mind, this class will be one of the most amazing experiences.

Description: If you want to sweat, challenge yourself, become a better hip-hop dancer or just want to have fun, then you need to sign up for this class. In this class, you will learn a series of combinations, dances and hip-hop moves. You will dance to hits from Michael Jackson, Imagine Dragons, Beyoncé and many more. Come get your cardio on in one of the most fun environments. Have no experience? No worries, this class is all about having a good time, so join us!

SATURDAYS:

Class: Yoga
Age: 15 & up
Time: 8:00-8:50am
Instructor: Kristin Cox

Description: This yoga class is a Baptiste Power Vinyasa, or power flow, that will benefit your mind, body, and soul. We will move quickly and often while holding traditional yoga poses to build internal heat and strength. This class is suitable for all levels since all poses can be modified or advanced. From beginner to advanced, all students can feel challenged and at ease. While this class will not take place in a heated studio, it is sure to give you a workout and jump-start your weekend.

**Anyone taking yoga will need to bring a yoga mat and preferably a yoga block.**

Class: Adult Murder Mystery Theatre Acting Workshop
Age: 18 & up

Description: This ensemble of actors will rehearse and learn Murder Mystery scripts to be performed throughout the semester at contracted locations. Each actor will be paid at least $50 per performance.
